Not entirely true. A Geordie is anyone who comes from Northumbria or County Durham, although you can use the term to mean just those who live between the rivers Tyne and Wear. This still includes the cities of both Newcastle and Sunderland. The only term I know that refers exclusivly to people from Newcastle is "Novocastrians".
