Minnesotan, Floridian, Virginian, Carolinians and Dakotans are easy with a vowel at the end. How about Oregonians, Idahoans, and Washingtonians? Are there Utahens, Utahnites, or are they just Utes? How about a Santa Fe native? Are you a New Mexican-American? > Fer"spent a summer as a Boxitogorskian"rick
I live in Tennessee, but I'm a Kentuckian, first and a Tennessean second. I'm also a Native American, because I was born here, as were several generations of my ancestors. I have been called a Lenoir Citian, but I moved out of town more than 30 years ago. I guess I'm a Loudon Countian now. We camped next to a family from Maine when our children were young, and they began referring to them as Mainiacs. I've never known any Baltimorons. Some people in southern Alabama are probably Mobilians. People in Nashville don't bat an eye when they are called Nashvillians. But Jacksonvillians is too long to be practical. It is not proper to call people in New York, New Yorkians, because it sound like Star Trek characters who have moved to the planet York. Howard
