Hearing about other people's inspiration can often help quite a bit. And besides, I'm sure there are other people who would like to know. :)

An interesting question. I've only read two of the replies (Quartz and Sam)but I intend to read the rest after I post mine.

My inspiration for a website was simply communication. I have family in such far-off places as Iceland, California, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, West Virginia and all over the eastern two-thirds of Tennessee. I have life-long friends in Florida, Illinois and Tennessee. And I keep touch with fellow motor scooter collectors all over the US and a few other countries. I also sort of know Rinkies all over the world. What better way to communicate than a website? Being a writer and a photographer (read that "amatuer" writer and photographer) I found a website to be a great way to express myself. I admit that I didn't catch on to that part until after the website was started, but it's been a big plus.

A website is like teaching school. It can be fun, frustrating, educational, and time-consuming.
You have to love either one to stick with it.

And, yes. I found education to be educational for student and teacher alike. The best way to learn about something is to try to teach it to somebody else. I'm rambling again. Time to quit.

PS Hey, Half-witt. Would you believe my sisters used to call me quarter-wit? Not as smart as a half-wit, they said. Sisters are like that.
