Well... it's because of my accent, which tends to float around. Some words I say in one accent, some words in another. The word "cannot" I tend to have a Scottish accent when saying, and it becomes more of a "canna"-sounding thing. I just kinda (that's *not* a Scottish thing) adopted typing it that way, too.
