I think its important for brass instruments to have as many spit taps as possible - it added that all-important "ewwww" factor to the teenage Brass experience.

But as for the valve trombone - what I meant was it was cool due its complete uselessness - why build a trombone if you're going to put valves on it? Why not just play a Baritone or Euphonium? There must be some sort of mad, insane master plan behind such twisted thinking...
