As far as I've been able to observe, the "s" only elongates into something that looks more like an "f" when it is in the middle of the word--an "s" on the end of the word looks normal. I like the "f"-looking character so much that I frequently refer to the state in which I currently reside as "Maffachuffetts".
It refembles a perfon speaking with a lifp.
