Develop more meaningful, deeper relationships. First of all, with my God. I know that the Christian walk is a lifelong process and that I'll never fully "arrive" until I'm either raptured or dead, but sometimes I feel like I'm just stagnating. I know what some of the things I need to do to work on this goal are, but the old man just keeps getting in the way. If you're a believer, you know what I mean, and if not, well, basically I'm saying that I have no one but myself to blame. It's a contant uphill struggle, but worth it. Second of all, with people, especially people who are close to me like my wife, my son, my friends. And these relationships can only benefit from having a deeper one with the Lord.
I want to have more children. I love my boy very much, and I'd love for him to have brothers and sisters to be a big brother to. Having kids around can be a trial sometimes, but the joy they can bring to your life is truly a blessing. It's such a privilege to watch him grow and learn and develop. He's just started putting words together to make sentences, and just his simple "Jon-tin play cars now!" is enough to make this daddy's heart glow. (Figuratively, of course.)
I want to get better at what I do. I want to keep gaining experience and learning new things about my profession. I'm not out for personal glory or anything, but I'd like to be recognized as a valuable member of whatever team I am a part of.
Now on to the "material": I want to own a house. I don't want to live in an apartment or other rentable dwelling ever again. I want a home. A place for a growing family; a place that is ours. But it's not so much a desire for real estate as it is a desire to be independent. To be our own "family unit" and form our own routines, traditions, and memories.
And, like so many others, I'd like to travel. I have the wanderlust and I love to go to new places and see new things. It almost doesn't matter where as long as it's someplace new, or even someplace old that I haven't been to in a long time.
