What you really, really want posted by Brunnen-G on Tuesday, January 15, 2002, at 03:40:48:
One thing that I have *always* wanted to do is to be able to play either the guitar or the piano, and to be able to write music and lyrics. I found music a wonderful way of expressing how one feels, and my AIM profiles are almost always comprised of lyrics from a song that accurately describes how I feel. I wish I was able to write the songs by myself. And then to be able to perform them on an instrument like the guitar or piano. I envy people who have this talent. A lot.
I also want to serve my country as best as I can. And I've wanted to do this since before September 11th. At first, I thought that enlisting in the military is what I wanted to do. But then, I had a talk with my AP U.S. History teacher from last year, and he told me a story about a former student of his. This student wanted to go to college to be a meterologist, but couldn't afford the cost. So he went to the Army so that he could get money for college. When he told this to the Army (and after they looked through his schooling), they essentially told him that he was too smart to be out on the battlefield, that he would be better off serving the Army in some other capacity. So they told him that they'd pay for him to go to college, and that he'd have a job with the Army as a meterologist when he came out. After a lot of thought, I decided that this was similar to what was probably the best thing for me to do, too. My greatest assets(please don't think I'm patronizing myself, after all, this is about my *only* asset) are that I am a very intelligent person, and that I'm very good at analysis. It's about the only thing I *can* do, because I honestly wonder if I could even survive basic training. I really don't think my body is capable of withstanding that. Anyways, I would be best putting my mind to use for my country, not my body, so my plan is to major in history and political science, then go to graduate school or something for Middle Eastern studies, and try to join the CIA. It was honestly a very difficult decision, because I hate going back on my word, but I feel that it is the best way for me to serve my country. If CIA does not work out for me, for whatever reason, then I will become a teacher.
I want to meet some of the people I have met here who have made such an impact on my life. I have been lucky enough to meet one of them, so far, and I really want to meet the rest of you. The best friends I have in the world, I have met here, and the rest of you are pretty cool, too. ;-) So I definitely want to be an attendee at future RinkUnions.
Of course, I want to fall in love, to get married and to live happily ever after with a girl who loves me, and whom I love deeply. Although maybe this one should be at the top of the list, but I never said this was in order of preference, or anything.
I also want to be answer to a question on an AP test. That would be cool.
