I was named for my grandmother, who was named for her Aunt, whose parents came from Denmark where the name was common around that time. Yes, there was at least one queen named Dagmar, though I don't know offhand when she reigned.

I once went to school with a girl from Denmark, and I enjoyed hearing her say my name the way it would be pronounced there. It sounds brutal *Grin*
