That's right. People who insist that "everything is relative" sometimes don't realize the logical mess of that statement until it is pointed out to them. After they've figured that out, they usually accept that at least some things are universally true, which makes it possible to deal with them more easily, effectively, and civilly. Almost nobody believes physical laws are relative, (I think) because the consequences are so immediate and often painful. Belief that moral or regular legal law don't apply to oneself is equally foolhardy, though the consequences are rarely short-term.
