You must have some of the same genetic
stock as my wife. Back in college, she used to
joke that she was magnetically drawn to
people, running into them. She could walk
across a large room with only two or three
people in it and accidentally bump into one of
them. If there was a pillar or other obstacle to
go around, she'd invariably be drawn into it
like a moth to a flame.

She's gotten better now. I should ask her if
she ever had any problems akin to yours
when learning to drive. She still doesn't like
driving much, but she has no problem actually
doing it most of the time.
