In the UK, learning to ride a motorbike is basically a large portion of humiliation riding about on what can only be described as a electric toothbrush with wheels. This of course is so degrading that there is no chance of you ever showing off once you get a proper bike, as you live in constant fear of relegation back to the lawnmower zone....

Meanwhile my description of a mid-life crisis kind of sounds like student life too...
