I'm going to a competition for English on Tuesday. I'm really happy, cuz I got picked to be a reader and there are only two others. Anyway, the reading part I'm not too worried about, but the teacher who is chaperoning said that in the event of a tie they would ask questions about English terms. Being the product of a public school education I know the rudiments: Allegory, personification, assonance etc. But I don't know too much else. Since I know there are many, many people on Rinkworks with a greater understanding of English than me, I wondered if anyone on here could provide me with some terms I could study before the competition? Try not to get too technical, or I probably won't understand. And for the finders of things any good web sites on English terms would also be helpful. Thanks very much!
