I was an English major. And a damn good one
at that. He was presented as this great poet.
Truly orginial and all that. When I read some of
his work it just sounded like he was writing
random words on the page with no grammar
at all. I like form and substance. Blake,
Hopkins, Coleridge, all those I like. They are
actual poets. They form their words carefully
and their poems have substance. e e
cummings doesn't seem to do this at all. I
also don't like Robert Frost. That might shock
some people but I think he is overrated as is
Shakespeare. I recognize Shakespeare for
being a good writer but he is very much
overrated. Sorry, I digress. I just don't like e e
cummings. That's about it.
