er... no. Norman Rockwell (along with all the other names I mentioned) was a famous American illustrator. He's known primarily for his cover art for the Saturday Evening Post. His paintings are distinctive and more often than not quite whimsical.
One of my favorite restaurants here in my hometown has an entire wall covered with Norman Rockwell SEP cover prints. My favorite seats in that restaurant are the ones in that room, especially along the wall where one can look at them closely.
New Englanders can visit the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. I've been there once and the place rules.

Looks like you may be right. I misremembered my information; Howard Pyle wrote and illustrated the modern version of Robin Hood's story. I found a rather interesting link on the whole subject; see below.
