AN EXPLANATION OF HOW ROCK CAN BEAT ROCK:

Gravity pulls down harder on bigger rocks than smaller rocks. Any small rock that is thrown at a stationary bigger rock would either bounce off the bigger rock or break down into several smaller rocks, a la Newton's Third Law of Motion.

However, if the bigger rock was positioned atop an inclined plane, you could throw a whole bunch of smaller, medium-sized rocks at the bigger rock until the bigger rock eventually began tumbling down the plane, also a la Newton's Third Law of Motion.
