Why? You have to clean them, don't you? And AFAIK they don't like it either. You also have to take them out, as opposed to simply cleaning a few boxes every now and then, depending on your cats' intestinal situation. And most of them eat more. And the amount of time they spend drooling on you is greater. And you get more problems if you want to keep them both outside and inside.
On the other hand there's also lots of advantages of dogs over cats, for example greater variety, or that you *can* take them with you. Basically, I don't have dogs because I have cats. One of them evidently dislikes dogs, though the other grew up with one.*

* and with several guinea pigs. Both the cat and the dog had the habit of sleeping in the guinea pigs' cage, which at that time consisted of an upturned table with wire mesh fencing around it and the usual rodent containment unit equipment in it.
