GOA-Game of Ages! HELP ME PLEASE!!

I have:

diving mask
Life preserver
strengthening stone
dead fish
Rope
Bucket
Broken Sword
rations
armor
pick
ticket
key

I need to get this wizards mark of my head! and in the village of despair or whatever, i am too dirty to do anything like get my picture drawn, then when i get cleaned up in the lake at home, just get messy again from those darn drunks!! I havent gotton into the gate of light because of the mark and i cant get the crate from the litter guy. the litter guy is annoying and i dont know what to do with him or how too get the crate!!!I have no money, and i cant kill that scary ghost thing in the other world! I dont know what too do with the dead fish or that guy in front of thecave! am soooo stumped!!! PLEASE HELP!! Spoilers are welcomed! Is there anything else that i am missing??? AHHHHH
