So if everyone (thus far) agrees that "Fasten then zip" is the accepted protocol, then please explain WHY in cartoons, the procedure is usually conceived as "Zip then fasten"? (I'm thinking of Homer Simpson, for example).

Is there *no-one* out there besides me who merrily thought the World used ZtF rather than FtZ? *sniffle*
