The jeweled dagger you will give to someone, and if you've throughly explored the gardens, and managed to find a second way out (past the cat) you'll know where the dagger goes.

That gnome though, he's a toughie. took me a while to figger out how to help him, and you need to help him before you can give the Jeweled dagger away. He looks hungry though, doesn't he? Maybe he wants a fresh fish filet...
