It is a tad bit interesting to note that the 1973 war incited against Israel by Egypt and Syria during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan also took place during the Jewish festival of Yom Kippur. That the war took place during Yom Kippur was touched upon in a recent article in my local newspaper. However, that the war also took place during Ramadan was not even mentioned. This is a bit odd, because the whole article was about how the United States should keep fighting in Afghanistan during Ramadan. I think that's a good idea, because the terrorists and extremists have already twisted the Qu'ran in so many different ways, they are barely following it anymore and I'm sure that they would have no scruples against attacking us during that time, especially if we let up.

If I had my druthers, I would go over there myself and give the Taliban a good talking to. Lacking that, I think I'll just send them a stern note. It's the least I can do.
