Ah, that takes me back to my college days. Our intermural basketball team was called "The Argyles". We had no talent, only a gimmick. At five foot eight, I was the second-tallest member of the team. Our tallest person, Julian, was about 6'4". This was the first time he had ever played basketball. He was a great decoy -- always under double, sometimes triple, coverage. After the first game, which we lost 647-12 (or something close to that it seems), the referees came up and told us it was the funniest game they'd ever refereed.

Oh yeah, we wore white crew socks under the knee-length argyles.
