And then you learn that sometimes they disappear in a way very different from what you expected. I lost my best friend last night. He's alive and well. He just doesn't want to talk to me anymore.

I'm glad you had a good time with your friends, Howard. I hope that in another fifty years I'll still have friends from high school and college, and as good of an outlook on life as you do. I just won't have the friends I expected to have.
