...if you want the 'right' answer:

The komodo would first look for a few more high school posters. There ought to be a few lying around suffering from heat exhaustion, dehydration, insufficient sleep and the like. Then 'mousey' :-) over to the petshop what does this nefarious loan thingy. Then, drawing itself to its full height, ask to negotiate thus with the owner (probably a gila monster):

"I've got three other slightly worn-out high school posters here. Let's include them *temporarily* in the loanable total. Then the numbers will all work out perfectly. You'll then take care of the three guys I brought in, won't you, and send them home when they've recovered."

Presumably that's how it's done. All of forty years ago.
