Everything works now except for the program which originally required WinSock. The DLLs on my machine are all Win95 DLLs (well, for WinSock at least). I suspect that the problem with the other application has nothing to do with WinSock, and hasn't for some time--it is just that when I first tried to run it, it told me I needed WinSock, and all my fumbling with WinSock made me assume that those problems were the source of the other problems.
