as for socks, while it's not illegal, and not immoral if you are like most and get your sense of morality from religion (I've never read anything about having to wash your socks in the Bible, but then no one wore socks back then - -they all went around in Jesus Sandals (*snort*)) if you wish to be politically correct, i.e. not offend anyone, you may wish to wash 'em ;)
