Well, Ickle Baby Jon's Naming Ceremony happened on Saturday, and it was all very nice. I stopped over at the house before we went on because they wanted to ensure that the Sponsors (It was a non-religious ceremony) could sign the dedication book first.

Jon obviously knew what was happening because it was the fisrt time in 5 weeks he'd woken up early (3am). He was given some presents, but so far as I'm aware they haven't been opened yet, so I don't know what they were. Mine was an 1876 gold sovereign that had been given to me as a birth-gift, and I thought would be best passed on.

Then we went to the reception hall, with Jon in his little purple tuxedo (which he spent most of the day trying to eat). Some poems were read out, promises were made by his family and sponsors, and then people ate and drank and had a merry time. Jon was good as gold during the ceremony, although he obviously wasn't paying too much attention.
