If not, I guess that would be a pretty good bit of scientific evidence proving the intelligence of people who where glasses :P

Well, I've still got 20/20 vision and don't use any glasses or contacts at all -- yet. Which is actually rather odd because everyone in my immidiate family had to get glasses long before my age. My mom had to get glasses as early as grade 5. Although I'll probably need glasses sometime eventually because, though I have 20/20 vision still, my left eye is at -1.00 and my right is at +0.25 (last time I had them checked, anyway). I must say though that it is rather nice just to be able to see and not to have to rely on glasses or contacts or anything like that though.

Also, I think that the vast majority of the people living in North America use one form of corrective lenses or another or had eye surgery in the past. Therefore, if you were to simply take a random sampling of people, then the chances are that most of them would have corrective lenses. So I don't think that your bit of scientific evidence quite works out. ;-) Perfect vision just isn't a trait that's being favoured for/against anymore so, well, in that regard I suppose the human eye lags behind a little bit.
