Maybe that passage means that God created some more animals after He made Adam; perhaps he made the "domesticated" animals, such as dogs and cats, after He made Adam, in order to keep him company. Or something of the sort. Or maybe Issachar is right. I have no idea and my belief in God does not hinge on the order he made stuff in.
