Alas, that's inherent in Christianity. It's exacerbated by current mainstream culture, which takes a dim view of the evangelical side of Christianity, but even so, Christ said repeatedly that Christians will suffer for his sake -- that the world will persecute Christians for their faith. Fortunately, he also said that he will not abandon those who profess him, and that blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake.
