I have done a fair amount of research on this and while it is not a critical part of Christianity as it is difficult to prove absolutely, I'm interested in some reasons why people believe what they do. > > I'll give my opinion after some other people respond because if you haven't really thought about it I'd prefer to keep your opinion impartial. > > -- kerploppus > > p.s. -- If you don't believe God created the world at all then please start another post because I don't really want to start that debate here. Thanks!
I've given this subject some thought as well though I haven't really researched it...in the end I don't think the 6 days were literal. I only base my conclusions on the fact that all the evidence humans have about the world suggest that it is billons of years old. Since radio-carbon dating is a human invention, I suppose it could be way off, but given our success in other nuclear matters (ie split an atom, KABOOM), I don't think that is too likely.
