Tubby:) hmmmm that sounds familiar!

Every spring, when the grass tends to grow really fast, we have to lock our ponies up in the yard for most of the day & night, and only let them out for a couple of hours each day otherwise they get really fat!

You should see their faces when we put them away!!! They look like sulking children the way they carry on!... Especially when they realise that our horses are still out in the paddocks, hehehe Its like *in my best sulky whine* " Ohhh why do we have to come in, evryone else is gonna eat the best grass"

Even our Thoroughbreds are fat!!!! (well exept one, "Edge" just can't seem to put weight on, we are currently trying, boiled rice for breakfast, and/or boiled barley in mallases along with all the bulk feed he gets, and that seems to be working Ok, but as soon as we take him off it, even when hes not being worked he turns into a string bean *sigh*)

We don't seem to have a problem with colic were we live (we don't live in a sandy area), but we do have a problem with laminitis. We have to watch the ponies like hawks during spring otherwise they founder cause the grass is so rich.
