Well, it's been an eventful week, all in.

Some of my closest friends are in a death-metal band (Throne of Nails) that have just signed a recording contract with a fairly major label (I forget which one, though), which is good. They've already self-published an EP, recieved a lot of very complimentary reviews in the music press and had airplay on radio stations around the world, so it's good to see them finally getting a serious break. We're going out to celebrate at the weekend.

Another friend of mine was commited under section 8 of the Mental Health Act again a few days ago. Which is a shame, because when he's not in psychopath mode he's a great person.

One thing I noticed when I was in Calais was the huge number of halloween decorations everywhere. This was a little bit of a cultural shock as Britain ignores halloween for the most part (although children are keen on the licence it gives them to extort sweets with menaces from the elderly), because it's too close to Guy Fawkes' night.

I think I'm going to buy myself a PlayStation 2 soon. I've been playing Oni-Musha Warlords over at a friend's house, and I'm impressed. And it'll save moe on getting a separate DVD player.
