When did the Scots stop being staunch monarchists? I mean, even after the farrago that was the Covenanter's War and after the Civil War, Scotland was still offering sanctuary to Prince Charles (later King Charles II), as immortalised in song. If it wasn't for the Royalist actions of the Scots, the Interregnum may never have ended, and we would still be in a Cromwellian republic.

And now the whole lot of drunkards north of the wall are about the most anti-Royalist and disestablishmentarianist people in the UK.
