Heh. I hadn't watched Peter Pan for years, and the last time I watched it I was really surprised. Apparently the passage of time and the ride at Disneyland had changed my idea of it, somewhat. I was especially surprised by Tinkerbell - the general view of her is cheerful, slightly impish but mostly sweet; but in the movie she's jealous, snippy and downright vindictive almost to the end. Totally at odds with all of the previous ideas I had of her character.

That aside... it *is* interesting to look at how modern-day ideas of political correctness affect a storyline. To use a Disney movie as an example, take Atlantis. That story took place in what, the early 1900's? Yet there's a great mix of ethnic diversity in the crew, to a level that is pretty politically correct today but is borderline anachronistic considering the time period in which the film is set. This isn't necesarily a bad thing, but it is indicative of how important political correctness is to the studio. Or something like that. :)
