Or is it a preachy Christian scare tactic to get the reader to accept Jesus Christ into his or her life? The reviews on Amazon.com seem to vacilate between the two.

(not that I've read much on it before, but you know :) ) I liked how they (LaHaye and Jenkins) wrote in an easy reading "modern" style - anyone, Christian or not, could understand these books. They are written from a Christian POV, but I don't concider them the "preachy" type. And they're the kind of books that you'll read, then sit around going "Hm." :)

I've read the first one and I want to read the rest (my goal for the summer). I thought it was really interesting, if a little TOO simple to read even, the style of writing wasn't my favorite, but that isn't the point. I'd read Revelations a couple times before i read the book, and it was nice, because suddenly it went from "big scary events" to things that could really conceivably happen. It's a book for anyone who wants to understand what the Christian point of view on the end of the world is, and yeah, it is one that will make you go hmm. I reccommend it.
