Er... it's a madness invented by the United States aerospace and defence agencies, whose end result is to make me work straight for prolonged 11-13 hour workdays? Ack. Really, really very long days. I got home only a short while ago. But since I'm considered a contractual agent, I'm invoicing my employer for whatever unthinkable hours that I do work. :-)
Anyway, NADCAP stands for "National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program." I recently started a contract in an industrial aerospace company, which has to do with manufacturing the insides of jet turbine engines so planes don't fall out of the sky and maim innocent passengers and bystanders for no reason. Unfortunately, my job started while the company was undergoing a necessary but nerve-wracking NADCAP audit. Everyone was on edge. Right now I'm rewriting chunks of the laboratory procedures and training manual so that it will fulfil the requirements of *last* year's NADCAP findings. Then we'll move on to whatever needs to be addressed for this year.
