It's also annoyed me a lot, when people have said "America brought this on herself". Yes, I agree that America could have made decisions that would have made this less likely (though I doubt anyone would have seen them for that at the time), but that hardly puts the blame on them. I mean, if I were to get burgled, I wouldn't say "Oh, it's my own fault. If I hadn't bought that expensive TV, this would never have happened."

I've seen a couple of pundits blame it on the fact that Ralph Nader lost the last election, but as I have no idea what his foreign policies might be, I don't know what they mean by that. Any US politicos want to answer that for me?

America has certainly made mistakes in foreign policy, but so has every country on Earth, and it hardly excuses actions like these.
