Has anyone noticed that a moment of silence in Europe lasts at least five minutes, whereas in America they last only for, well, a moment? A few short seconds is hardly enough time to take out of one's day in order to make a full prayer and rememberance, but it seems that we Americans are doomed with short attention spans and thus we take the "moment of silence" literally.
