When my wife came into chat yesterday (or Tuesday afternoon -- relative time is a bit hard to determine in the aftermath of all this), she told me that people are so friendly here. She was rather amazed. She hardly ever visits and has only met a few people at RU2, yet here was an outpouring of kind words from complete strangers.

I've also experienced this over at the Home Theater Forum. The HTF, a site that has 20,000 registered users, has a message thread about the attacks. There were so many messages and posts from people who were in the city or had relatives in the Pentagon, so many strangers offering well-wishes to others. It was amazing.
