In all this grief and tragedy I have been trying to find some glimmer of optimism and hope. I think at last I've found it...Instead of looting and burning, assembling militias and sending off missiles, the US has done an amazing job of pulling together and helping. Everyone is donating money, blood, the construction companies are sending cranes and bulldozers to help clear the debris...In our schools we've not been smothered with anti-Arab propoganda or been told that Bush will get revenge and nuke whoever did this. Instead we've had calm conversations, looked into the complications of retaliation, reviewed the facts and dispelled the rumors. It's beautiful how in this moment of terror the best has been brought out in everyone.
