I intended to come here today to vent about what an icky night Darien and I had last night.

And then I found out about what happened, and suddenly the whole world doesn't seem to make sense.

Not only do my problems seem ridiculous and trivial, but I feel so helpless, so completely and utterly unable to do anything. I have family in PA. (Thank God, not near where the plane crashed, but I didn't know that at first.) I have friends in New York. And I can't do anything.

Will there be a war? Will Darien be drafted? Will we ever get married? So much is racing through my head, and I don't know how to make sense of it.

I pray that we, as a nation, will be able to pull together and make it through this...
