I've just recently (read: this afternoon) discovered that we, in fact, have a theatre much like the one you've just described, only not in such a state of disrepair. It's called "Pothole Pictures" (anyone who lives around here would know why), and it's an authentic early-twentieth-century movie house, restored and put back into service. They have wooden seats (four hundred of them), a balcony, a stage in front of the screen (with musicians and a monologue from the coordinator before the movie begins), and two carbon-arc projectors that have to be changed over by hand, just like in the old days. They show classic films - this season kicks off with "The Sting," for example. And the tickets are three dollars per person.

So, I just thought I'd let you know. Oh, and the weekend of our honeymoon, "The Wizard of Oz" is showing. We're going to go see it. To see "The WIzard of Oz" in an authentic movie house... it's a chance you don't get often these days.
