Having grown up on sandwiches that my mother insisted on cutting diagonally, I can tell you that sandwiches cut down the middle are much better. Okay, first of all, you people are WEIRD. Second of all, everyone knows the best part of the sandwich is the the little inny part of the crust where the bread pan crust meets the top of the loaf shiny crust, right UNDER the shiny crust (which is the yickiest part of the crust) but not so far under it that all you get is bread pan crust. There is something about that little inny corner of not-really-crust that yummifies me. THAT is the part to eat last.
AND ALSO, everyone knows that horizontally cut sandwiches are for littlekids and diagonally cut sandwiches are for grownups. You know you are a grownup when your sandwich comes cut diagonally, or when you are big enough to cut it diagonally yourself. Period.
