Times were hard when I started college. I had just turned 20. I had no money, no car, no TV, no microwave, no computer, no girlfriend, no draft deferment, no major, no minors, no cell phone, no stero, no radio, no part time job. I had a jacket and one pair of shoes. All of my clothes went into one suitcase. In a cardboard box, I had a pillow, two sheets and an army surplus wool blanket.
Most of what I learned was outside the class room.
