OK. I give up. What's a bollard? Is it just one of those British terms like windscreen, tyre, boot, silencer, and bonnet? Do I have one on my Toyota? I tried pronouncing it in Spanish and it came out boyard. I wonder what it is in American. It could be the bumper or the rocker panel.
And a Ford Ka? That sounds like New York or New England where every car is a Ka, as in "I'll go pock th' ka." I suppose some people in the islands might talk that way too.
Monolingual people like me have problems with such things. Down here in Dixie, I don't reckon we have any words like that. Howard
