We got in at about 3:30 P.M., Whatever time it is there. We sat around while our group leader registered. Melissa and I chose the same class to go to during the week, as did a lot of people in our group. It was titled, "As Jesus did...DO IT!". More on that later. Then we got our room assigments and keys. We were in the awesome rustic cabins, which consist of 8 bunk beds, a fridge, and a fan. And graffiti on everything. We were all really stinking hot, so we decided to take showers. The mens showers were ice cold, the pilot light had gone out. So I took a really really quick shower, changed, shaved and was out. Then we ate a sandwhich lunch/supper deal, as thats all we had. Then we went to evening Celebration-Worship...MercyMe is the most amazing Worship band, I'll provide a link below. The speakers were all great, and then we got to have a big mingle session. I saw some friends I haven't seen in a year, and got to know new friends. During the week, I learned about Covenant Living. This basically means to put yourself completely in God's arms. No more worrying about whether or not yuo are good enough in God's eyes. Just live for him. Its a hard lesson, but one that I needed. In the class we took, we talked about Jesus, and a lot of the stuff they don't tell you about him in Sunday school. How he empowered the women he traveled with. How he showed his followers what love really is. How racism and sexism that is in the world, and in the church, and how it sould not be there. How to live like him in todays world. It was awesome. Dr. Ellen Black is someone I really respect now. This week was also special to my girlfriend and I. Last year, I started talking to her and found someone very special. We consider August 10th, the last day of camp, our anniversary. We gave our special presents to each other, and talked a lot. We got up every morning at 6 to go pray and have a time of Bible study. We grew closer this week than a whole year together. I'm going to marry her. Six of our friends got engaged over the week...three couples, however you work it out, over three nights. The fourth day, everyone was picking on Melissa and I, saying that we had to complete it. So we hatched a plan. We borrowed our friend JoAnna's ring, and went of on our Bible Study. When we came back, and everyone was around, JoAnna said, "Hey, what that on your finger?", right on cue. Everyone got really excited, and were really surprised. Then we said,"Just becasue you guys wouldn't leave us alone, we had to do something so...HA!", and gave JoAnna the ring. That was fun. Dave Edwards is an awespme speaker. He is really funny, and uses his humor to conncet really well. He is the one who told us all about Covenant Living. Check him out at www.davetown.com. Anyways, I hope I've summed it up good enough. If I worte everything that happened, it would take to long. All I know is that I love God so much more now...its not just a Mountain top experience, then going down in the valley...I'm going to try and keep everything that happened this week, and change my life and live like I should.
