In the city I live in, there is an ordinance that keeps all the street lights pointing down (or with a cover over the top) to reduce light pollution. So as long you go into your backyard or someplace you can at least see all the contellations, plus enough stars to make the sky seem star-filled. Going camping still looks cooler, though.
