Used to happen in my group of friends all the time. Pretty well all of us have a knack for humor (though some are funnier than others--I'm at the mid-to-low end of the scale) but growing up together, we used to have that happen all the time. Now, though, if the need to share someone else's joke comes up, we usually just give credit where it's due, as in "Hey, Travholt just said to me..." or something similar. I think that habit developed out of our mutual respect for one another or something.
