I grew up in Cooks Forest, part of the Alleghany National Forest, just north of Pittsburgh. So Pittsburgh was the Big City to me. My family would visit the Carnegie Museum, the Pittsburgh Zoo, and maybe the Clipper ships.

Anyway, you're right... it has cleaned up quite a bit in my lifetime. I think it's a wonderful city. I haven't been there in years, however... except for when Greyhound or Amtrak stopped there during my travels. :(

Anyway, as for being bombed, I got you beat. Cheyenne Mountain looms awfully close to my house.

Cheyenne Mt. is one of those charming military establishments, where if you try to drive up there, they will warn you to stop once, and then they will shoot you. If there is ever a nuclear war, Colorado Springs will be the first to bite it.
